Why We Rebranded Blaiklock (And Why It Was Never About A New Logo)

Most rebrands begin with a new logo. Ours didn't. It started by looking beyond the capabilities clients should already expect from a modern logistics partner, and back to the principles that have guided Blaiklock for more than 20 years
Spend five minutes looking at logistics websites and you'll notice something. Reliable service. Exceptional customer support. Global networks. Sustainability. Real-time tracking. End-to-end visibility. AI-powered technology. Tailored solutions. They're all important. We invest in those capabilities ourselves, and we'd expect any reputable logistics provider to do the same. But that's exactly the point.

These capabilities are no longer what sets one logistics company apart, they're the standard.

Today's clients rightly expect visibility across their supply chain. They expect sustainability to be taken seriously. They expect technology and AI to improve efficiency. They expect responsive customer service, clear communication and digital tools that make managing shipments easier.

Research from McKinsey shows that more than 85% of organisations are already seeing measurable value from digital supply chain investments, demonstrating just how quickly these capabilities have become part of everyday business rather than a competitive advantage.¹

If every logistics company is making the same promises, those promises stop helping clients make a better decision. So we looked beyond them.

The logistics industry has changed dramatically over the last decade, and so have we. Supply chains are more interconnected than ever before. Global events can reshape trade routes overnight. Extreme weather disrupts production. Regulation continues to evolve. Client expectations keep rising. Deloitte's latest procurement research shows that resilience and risk management have become priorities alongside cost and operational performance.²

That changes the role of a logistics partner. Because no logistics company is perfect. Not ours, and not anyone else's.

Global supply chains are simply too complex to promise that every shipment will go exactly to plan. The real measure of a logistics partner isn't flawless delivery.

It's how they respond when circumstances change. A delayed shipment. A customs issue. A last-minute change in demand. Those moments reveal far more about a business than hundreds of deliveries that arrive exactly as expected.

For an Operations Director, that's where commercial risk becomes reality. Production slows. Customer relationships suffer. Margins tighten. Confidence disappears.

For the people managing those situations every day, the priorities are simple. Clear communication. Honest updates. Fast decisions.

A partner who's already working on a solution before they've had to ask the question.

That became the foundation of our rebrand. Not a new logo. Not a new colour palette. Certainly not a desire to look different for the sake of it.

The way a brand looks will always be subjective. Some people will prefer one logo over another. Others will have different opinions on colours, typography or photography.

That's the nature of design. The foundation behind a good brand is different. It shouldn't be shaped by trends. It should be shaped by the people it's built to serve.

Our rebrand wasn't about reinventing Blaiklock. It was about bringing to the forefront the principles that have guided the business from the very beginning and ensuring they remain relevant as the market continues to evolve.

Technology will continue to change. AI will become more capable. Visibility will improve. Sustainability expectations will continue to grow. Those expectations will keep evolving, just as they should.

Our foundation doesn't need to. Because while the tools may change, what clients value most when circumstances don't go to plan rarely does.

Control over the situation. Consistency in the way it's managed. Confidence that the right people are already working on the solution.

Those aren't marketing messages. They're the qualities we've always believed define a great logistics partner. Because when the unexpected happens, clients don't remember the promise. They remember how it was handled.
